This morning we will be practising Trataka, the practice of gazing into the flame of a candle as a deeper means of concentration and connecting with the third eye . We will also use the Ujaiyi (victorious or oceanic) breath as our main pranayama, it is a warming and sustaining breath that helps releases anxiety and combat insomnia and has a special effect on energy and connecting with the subtle body.
I will have tea lights in studio but please find a candle at home.
It has been harder to wake up and be motivated to practice yoga in these first days of a colder darker winter. But I know when I do roll out the mat I will feel better in all ways, ready to enjoy the other parts of the day.
