Happy Autumn!
We had a beautiful taster Well Woman class last night at the Centre for Whole Health at Victoria Place just off North and East Street, our centrepiece: strands of Passionflower (sleep herb) and other autumnal flowers, and candles offering light around which to gather.
With wind and rain and the news of the Queens passing in the air...
We explored the phases in a woman's life in connection with the seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Seasons are a useful metaphor for a monthly cycle and on the journey to the Second Spring of life beyond the autumn and winter phases of perimenopause and menopause.
We began to choose September intentions, one thing to welcome and one thing to release. Movement for hips, and shoulders and bringing opening and strengthening energy to the whole body with yoga, and meridian tapping. Yoga Nidra invited deep peace, stability and rest.
